This is great news. I've been trying to rack up the mental health disorders so I can be President or at least congressman.

Golly, I better go spend thousands to get clean!

Its another plague! So many infected in a short time!

In all seriousness though, what the actual hell? Why exactly, in detail, did they decide to classify gaming as a disease?

Next thing you know, someone's going to run for office with their primary goal being "end the gaming disease".

Just one more that parents can use to scare their children to stop playing video games.

Crazy as it sounds but any thing we do over and over again to the detriment of our life can be considered a  disease.

with that been said, 20 hours a week is nothing.

3 hours on a weekday, then 5+ on a weekend, doesnt seem like an issue

I saw on the news they were talking about a kid who was so addicted to his gaming he was not eating, became violent to his parents when they tried to get him away from his computer, and he would urinate in bottles in his room so he didn't have to leave his computer.

I guess maybe that's where the line is drawn!

I didn't read the details, but I'm pretty sure* that they don't consider gaming as a disease, but what does count is gaming addiction. Like in any addiction, you can do whatever you want, but when it starts to hurt you or takes too much time away from your responsibilities - that's where the line is drawn (that's my layman definition).

* People can always surprise me...

I didn't know plants were capable of addictions.

That's the definition of  disease
