Add Recon Bike into all maps

The Recon Bike is awesome, no doubt about it, lol. MPF UltraAOW NewMaps Server has it in every map and it's so much fun. But the RenCorner Marathon server only has it on a few maps. Would it be difficult for the devs/mods/whatever to implement the bike into all maps, including the original Renegade maps, or would it be seen as "imbalanced" to include it for the original maps? I doubt it would unbalance the game and for GDI, you could add in the TOW missile Humvee to even it out the vehicle roster, right?

What do you guys think?

It'd have to be done via a command, since I think its not possible to add it to the PT options on a map, without modifying the map

lmao, you guys are set in y our ways it seems. YES, NIAGARA 24/7! I'm curious to know dubstar, how exactly is it too much of an advantage for Nod? I'm new, so, if you don't mind explaining.

Recon Bike is very agile and can penetrate most bases pretty easily as it is, IMO the unfair advantage is Nod having sbh with nukes driving them

Wut, not that I care because you'd never catch me in one of them noobmobiles. Its just a bit of fun, plus its only fun on Niagra because you got so much to field space to work with to build up speed and shiz, a recon sneaking on won't be that much of an issue on other maps, end of the day though, someone has to make it into a command(blacky), I think its a pretty cool idea though

another downside to recon's on every map would be a rising trend of people losing so many to rushing with tech/hotty/sbh, recon ditching would take up the teams vehicle limit within time

 

crate: player turns into a fully functional tiberium harvester

@dubstar: That's a decent point about screaming past all the players occupying the enemy base at break-neck speed and planting a beacon within like 3 seconds of arrival, and you're already at the back of theri base, away from their people. But the bike is the weakest vehicle, it couldn't camp the beacon very well compared to say a stank or Flame, and if there is an AGT at the only vehicle entrance to the base then there's no way the bike is getting past, amirite? I think it takes only two shots of AGT rockets to kill it? And they don't miss, right? Even if you're going really fast? Oh and I consider it a sin to abandon your bike.

@Vultima: Thats what I'm talking about, EXPANSION! MORE OPTIONS! but not game breaking options. I'm trying to picture the bike performing on all the stock Renegade maps, I see it being a challenge to use them at full speed as all those maps are small and tight quarters. So only a decent player could make decent use of it,. noobs spamming it and winning ain't a problem. in big matches 30 plus players it would be even less useful because they'd end up driving into somebody's APC coming around the corner. And the server fills up pretty nicely. I don't see a problem with it balance wise, but there's only one way to find out- implement it thru command or tweak the maps in LevelEdit to add in the bike proper to the purchase terminal, same with TOW Humvee.

I second what Forit says about recon: leave them in crates and specific maps. atleast we still have a chance to get them

also I reckon the gravity gun would have been just right for crates if it only worked on enemies

Niagara and those Recons/TOW Humvees are amazing. Two of the hums can camp and hold off Nod by themselves, lol.

Not exactly, gdi loses abit more usually due to quick recon rushes(because you have to keep on the mining) or the one time a stank rush gets through.

When it's done right that map is a stalemate.
