Adding a new rule for now:

No more of the jumping out of your vehicle and firing trick, it is way too op.

Moderators: !freeze is your friend, and may stop some of the complaints we may get.

Certain people just do it all of the time, destroying tanks like they're paper. It's never been a problem like it has been lately: not everyone did it. One light tank should not be able to wreck 2 mediums, nor a medium wreck 3 arties.

If they stop doing it so much, I'll take it back out. That depends on whether people quit abusing the fuck out of it.

There's a server.ini setting that was made to stop that. Makes it so a vehicle's weapon won't reload if it's empty.

I didn't know about that, do we currently have it? I'm not seeing it in server/da/da_rc/svrcfg_cnc files, unless I am blind(been known to miss things right in front of my face).:ashamed0001:

If they start doing that to arties/mrls on the scale of what I've been seeing with the rail/pic, then probably. It's been here the whole time, I've never had a problem with it, but you have to admit it is done way too much these days. Might as well throw a second turret on those Lights/Mediums. :sword:

This would be the best way to tackle the situation

Benefit would be a decrease in overall damage to enemy vehicles.


People can still jump out and shoot BUT they will have to reload whilst outside the vehicle, cutting the damage per second drastically.

Agree  it would  be hard to moderate  that. Kicking  and warning every time  someone jumps out  and shoots.

I have started using this a lot lately as well being sick of getting destroyed by it all the time. 

The whole weapon drop and !weapons command is the real problem imo. But not being able to reload a weapon in a tank may fix the symptoms. I really do not know how to moderate this though.

So jumping out to shoot inf is still allowd i hope.

I guess the next rules we will see is that its not allowd to snipe in NOD base on canyon since i already got warned for it LOL

I want to insist on the fact it'll be very hard to moderate and hard to explain to the players using it. I think we need a coded solution.

wait so a lot of you mods have a problem with the !weapons command.... or other words hottie/rail combo... if you take that out my n00b ass will be sad... but lately ive been using hottie/sniper combo or hottie/pic tech/rail combos.... if this is an issue please let me know ill use a different combo.. i just hate having to change characters to heal a building and then change back just kill someone trying to kill me healing... this makes the process quicker for me... other wise let me know ill lead by choosing a different combo or going with something totally different.... and if you take that away from N1NJ4 hes more than likely gonna go full kesler on us...

The !weapons aren't the problem, they're generally on foot. Think about it...it's like you have a second tank turret plus you're godmode with 600-800 extra armor.

I like when people do this, I snipe them; vech get stolen o.O

I don't like the rule either, I see a tide of complaints on the horizon. The server.ini thing is the best way to deal with this by far.

Still...it would've been an easy thing to moderate: a few freezes would get them to stop. TskTskTsk, halfmods would've had a new command if not for you guys dashing their dreams.

the problem is theres no downside to it, allowing the person to choose between rail and repair id prefer.

That is kind of moot, most of them use Sydney/Raveshaw when doing it.

He means it's less a problem if you are only a rave and a light as you cannot repair your light. The fact you have srep on top of that makes it extra op.
